Here's a link to an article on that, which also contains links to Express-Compatible Service Templates. It just takes a little more doing to make it happen. Everything you need is still in Visual Studio and the DotNET Framework, I suspect you don't care about that though - you seem to be looking to create a Windows Service Project using an Express Edition which doesn't come with a Windows Service Template. There are ways, but each way comes with a pack of caveats and addendums and it's just a bad deal. The back-end functions of any application can be duplicated in a Windows Service, but a Windows Service doesn't have a User Interface (like any other Application) or at least it really, really shouldn't interact I have a console application that is ready to be used as a windows service, I have been looking around for a couple of hours and tried many of the tutorials out there but none of them worked with me.
